Chapter 8 Conclusions
general that the students were highly satisfied with the quality and contents. Lecturers
and managing staff were also highly satisfied with the programs.
Challenges and solutions were identified for QA for the continuous improvement
of education in CTU. Japanese universities’ experiences on QA were shared with CTU.
Furthermore, a mechanism was developed and improved for effective and efficient
use of equipment to be procured under the ODA Loan Project. For this purpose, two
committees were established to manage laboratories and equipment in the new
facilities. Further, capacity building of the staff was conducted for the operation and
maintenance of the equipment. Challenges and solutions were also identified for the
improvement of administrative systems for research and education. In this context,
16 members of CTU staff participated in short-term training in Japan in the field of
academic administration and management. Finally, administration institutions were
strengthened for the collaboration between university, industry, local government,
and community (e.g., Center for Technology Transfer and Services, Center for Student
Consultancy and Start-up).
The two projects have been successfully implemented with prominent achievements
in human resources development, enhancing scientific capacity and technology
transfer, as well as infrastructure investment for teaching and research in CTU. These
two projects are the strong foundation for the CTU’s contribution to the sustainable
development of the MDR under climate change, according to Government Resolution
No. 120/NQ-CP, through the next technical cooperation project “Science-based
Integrated Collaboration towards Sustainable Development of the Mekong Delta Region
under Climate Change”. We aspire that the earnest cooperation between JICA and CTU
will significantly contribute to the sustainable development of the society in the MDR
and other regions in the world.
