Chapter 3 Key Factors affecting Implementation and Outcomes
3.10.4 Key Factor-3 to appeal CTU: Towards upgrading University Ranking
CTU is always conducting innovative activities together with communities in the MD. There are
many scientific issues for CTU to contribute to the communities. New facilities installed with modern
equipment will be completed within this year, and an increasing number of young CTU staff members
have obtained master’s or PhD degrees. These are the driving forces for CTU to upgrade education,
research and outreach capabilities of CTU. Currently, scientists of CTU are conducting excellent
research under insufficient research conditions. There are therefore strong incentives and reasons to
believe that CTU will become one of the top ranking universities in future.
3.11 Other Factors: New Seeds related to the Project
This chapter illustrates other factors considered of high potentiality discovered during the Project
period.
3.11.1 Competitive Research fund
In January 2020, the research team between
TUAT and College of Agriculture, CTU won the
competitive research fund for the promotion of Joint
International Research (Fostering Joint International
Research (B)) for JFY2020 as follows;
- Principal Investigator:
Prof. MORIYAMA Hiromitsu, TUAT
- Joint Research Member:
Assoc. Prof. Dr. LE Van Vang, Dean,
Dr. Le Phuoc Thanh, College of Agriculture, CTU
- Title of Research Project:
Screening and Characterization of Mycoviruses
latently infected with Phytopathogens in Can
Tho region, Viet Nam
This is very encouraging real news for CTU as
a good example with the strong support of TUAT
which is a core member of JSUC in the Project.
CTU is expected to challenge and win a competitive
research fund from now on.
