Chapter 4 Results of Joint Review
2) Aquaculture and Fisheries
Having the opportunity to contact and recognize the practical needs of the community in the pro-
cess of collecting data for the topic, thereby improving the ability to apply science and technology
to life
Preparing a proposal for an international project on domestication of saline-water catfish adapting
to saline water intrusion caused by climate change.
Solved problems in the new field /opened up new research directions / New ideas to open up new
research directions
Preparing join-works must be well defined and prepared before the visit of Japanese scientists
Fostering laboratory skills through hands-on learning
Integrated approach for Education – Research – Technology Development and Industry application
Multidisciplinary approach in research
3) Environment
Multi-disciplinary study giving better condition for co-work with colleagues in different depart-
ments of CTU
Better understanding of the climate change and environmental issues at the case study areas (Ben
Tre and Soc Trang province)
Having a good lesson to take care of all of the research activities such as maintenance of research
equipment how to work well in order to get exact and scientific data; enhancing capacity manage-
ment in research organizations, specifically students who participate in the research.
There are many lessons of experience in detailed planning; organizing workshop, conference, sci-
entific seminar, minutes meeting and report. The most important lessons learned are the way of
thinking and systematic thinking of Japanese scientists who work hard, very detailed, skillfully and
strictly on doing study.
The research is more focused on application for the MD, and seems not to be a high focus of the
Japanese scientist.
Each researcher of the research theme at the beginning did not realize that they need to work to-
gether but rather to work separately in own subject
The equipment from the ODA project will be purchased in 2021, so it is not a great support for the
research activities of the program.
The unfavorable impact: The research activities may not be coincided with capacity building such
as analytic tools and human source supply.
