Pangasius fish products Antibiotic resistant bacteria in food chain
Pangasius hypophthalmus is a key aquaculture species in Vietnam which accounts for more than 90% of what is sold on the
international market. Multi-drug resistant bacteria was however found on exported Pangasius fillets, indicating potential
hazards for the public health.
Although the booming export of Pangasius products from Vietnam, very little to no scientific information is available about
the resistance prevalence in pathogenic bacteria obtained from Pangasius processing factory (PPF).
