Chapter 4 Results of Joint Review

Advantages:

- A good chance to exchange ideas and experiences with each other (Local government)

- To help create good connections between the next young generation and the management staff of

Disadvantages:

- Students from local governments and companies sometimes faced difficulty in arranging time
schedule for the class (Local government, company)
- Difference in background and knowledge of the students caused different levels of absorbing and
understanding knowledge from lecturers. (Local government)
- Some of the contents did not match the student’s career (Local government, company)

- Difficult to concentrate on study while working at the same time

- Face to face exchange is better than online lectures (Vice Dean of CoA)
- VTV9 News and Soil Science Department and other departments of CoA have jointly produced
some programs for broadcast about influences of the climate change on rice and possible ways to
recover the salty and aluminum-contaminated soils. (Local government – VTV staff)
- We have gained more knowledge through this program, and lessons that we have learnt from
Japanese professors are the same as the current situation about climate change at Soc Trang
