ODA Loan On May 24 and June 6 , 2019, two seminars on management of laboratory safe-
ty were held at CTU by a JICA short-term expert. The number of participants of
both seminars is 169 including researchers, lecturers, administrative staff and
students from many colleges and relevant units of CTU.

In Oct. and Nov. 2021, nine members of CTU in charge of BSL-3 had online
training on BSL-2 and BSL-3. The training was organized by NIHE in Hanoi
with support of JICA NIHE Project. Practical training on BSL-3 is expected to
be conducted in Hanoi as early as possible after the COVID-19 restrictions are
releaxed.

It had also been under consideration to dispatch core technical staff to Japan by
the end of the Project for short-term training on management of common-use fa-
cilities and equipment if all restrictions due to COVID-19 would be lifted in time.
As of the end of Oct. 2021, the training plan was unfortunately cancelled due to
the pandemic situation.
