3.9 Internationalization towards Higher Education Network

3.9.1 Brief Outline

The overall goal of the Project is that the research and education capacity of CTU in three fields
(agriculture, fisheries/aquaculture and environment) is internationally recognized as an attractive
hub of the MD forming a global academic and higher education network. As a result of efforts of the
CTU international relation office, CTU has constantly received visitors from other universities/colleges,
companies and governments from in and out of Viet Nam. This would create a number of possibilities
and opportunities for various types of linkages, which are conducive to enhancing internationalization
of CTU.

Eventual Goal: To Form a Global Academic/Higher Education Network

3.9.2 Exchange Academic Visits and Training

A key factor for internationalization is mutual visits, which provide opportunities to meet and
understand each other. For example, after receiving the delegation JKUAT in Africa in February, 2019,
the CTU team in turn visited JKUAT in February, 2020 to see the actual sites of their research and
discuss possible areas of collaboration. Based on these mutual visits, both universities agreed to
prompt new activities such as joint research and training programs on the identified fields, staff and
student exchange, and establishment of the North, East, West and South (NEWS) network.
Once construction of new facilities and installation of new laboratory equipment is completed by
the end of 2021, more demands for intensive training are expected from the MD communities and
