Chapter 6 Lessons Learned

            6.6 Effects of COVID-19 Pandemic

From February, 2019 to the present, COVID-19
has given serious negative impacts on the Project
implementation such as field activities, dispatch
of Japanese Experts (Professors) and numbers of
            international/national events.
As a countermeasure, online systems in CTU
have been expanded, supported by JICA and CTU.

These systems are proved to be highly useful
and ameliorated the negative effects of COVID-19.
The Project deeply appreciates the speedy support
of JICA Viet Nam Office and CTU Management
            Office.

            6.7 Achievements/Highlights applicable

Beside the lessons learned above, the TC project
obtained a great achievement and experiences for
            further application.

               i) The project promotes and strengthens a
                 great environment of collaboration and
integration for development. These are the
                 collaboration and integration among the
                 disciplinary fields (Agriculture, Aquaculture
and Fisheries, and Environment and others)
and human resources at CTU; between
CTU and local and international partners,
and especially between CTU and JICA and
                 9 Japanese Universities. These successes
indicate the importance of collaboration and
integration, and thus very necessary to be
                 maintained and promoted further.

                                                                        Joint Research Programs:
                 “Climate change”, “Interdisciplinary”, and
                                                                 [Three-full-days intensive workshop shows

strong/deep relationship and trust between CTU
