1.4.2 Project Purpose and Outputs

The purpose of the Project is to strengthen the capacity of CTU in education, research, university
governance and management university in agriculture, fisheries and environment.
Project outputs

Output1: Research capacity of CTU is enhanced in agriculture, aquaculture/fisheries and
environment and these interrelated fields.

- Develop human resources to effectively and efficiently utilize research equipment;

- Develop mechanisms to effectively and efficiently utilize research equipment;

- Develop mechanisms to promote interdisciplinary research studies among agriculture, fisheries
and environment;

- Develop mechanisms to promote science - technology transfer activities among in agriculture,
fisheries and environment;

- Widely publicize the results of scientific research and technology transfer, especially in the region
and internationally;

- Conduct joint research studies with Japanese universities.
Output 2: Education capacity of CTU is enhanced in agriculture, fisheries and environment
and these interdisciplinary fields.

- Improve and develop some graduate training programs according to the international standards;

- Develop mechanisms to promote the quality of the undergraduate and graduate curriculum;

- Develop and accredit selected undergraduate and graduate program(s) to meet international
standard;

- Update teaching methodology and modern evaluation for lecturers;
- Update and improve the quantity and quality of training and research documents.

Output 3: Governance and Management Capacity of CTU, necessary for enhancing the research
and education capacity of CTU is enhanced.

- Develop a model to promote private-public-academic collaboration;

- Develop a model to promote private-public-scientific research collaboration;

- Develop effective policies to attract high quality students and employees;

- Develop effective policies to boost scientific research and technology transfer;

- Improve relevant procedures of university governance and apply effectively.
