Chapter 1  Basic Information


            1.6 Project Beneficiaries



            1.6.1 Direct Beneficiaries

               - Researchers/Teaching staff (400) and Students (7,500) of the three fields (agriculture,

               aquaculture/fisheries, and environment) of CTU;
               -  Administrative staff of CTU (100).

            1.6.2 Indirect Beneficiaries
               - University, Industry, Local government, and Community in the MDR

               collaborating with CTU;
               - Industry employing CTU graduates.

            1.7 Project Implementation

               Monitoring and Evaluation

               JICA and CTU jointly and regularly monitored the progress of the Project through the Monitoring
            Sheets based on the PDM and PO. The Monitoring Sheets were reviewed every six months. Also, Project
            Completion Report was drawn up before the termination of the Project.
               JICA will conduct the following evaluations and surveys to verify sustainability and impact of the
            Project and draw lessons. CTU is required to provide necessary support for them.
               - Ex-post evaluation three years after the project completion, in principle;

               - Follow-up surveys on necessity basis.
            1.8 Implementation Structure


               The project organization chart (TC and ODA Loan project) is given in Table 2. The roles and
            assignments of relevant organizations are as follows:
               - Can Tho University

               Project Director: Vice Rector for Facility Management of CTU, as Director of Project Management
            Unit (Loan), has been responsible for overall administration and implementation of the Project.

               Project Manager: Vice Rector for International Relations of CTU has led the Project Task Force, and
            is responsible for administration and implementation of the Project.

               Project Task Force: Project Task Force has been responsible for implementation of daily activities
            of the Project. Members of the Task Force were appointed by the Rector of CTU.
               JICA Experts


               The JICA experts were assigned to give necessary technical guidance, advice and recommendations
            to CTU on any matters pertaining to the implementation of the Project.
