2.1 Inputs

2.1.1 Inputs by Japanese side

The following are inputs by the Japanese side to the Project as of the terminal of the Project.

Long-term Experts: a total of 5 persons (2 chief advisors, 1 academic advisor and
2 project coordinators/university-industry networking), a total of 168.7 man-

Experts Short-term Experts: a total of 194 persons (Research and education), a total of

Grand Total: approx. 6,500,000 JPY (approx. 60,000 USD, approx. 1,355,000,000

Contents: Electric furnace and its accessory and spare parts for MJR
Provision of (Environment), one set of video conference system, one set of LED display
Equipment system

(Tax exemption) * Besides above, 86 items of equipment were purchased for about 19,800,000
JPY (approx. 182,000 USD, approx. 4,166,000,000 VND) including tax (VAT)
* Other key equipment was procured by the CTU Improvement Project under
ODA Loan Scheme.
Number of participants: a total of 35 persons/28 courses (19 persons for MJR
and 16 persons for Academic Administration and Management)
Contents: 16 courses for MJR (4 for Agriculture-1, 4 for Agriculture-2, 3 for
Training in Japan Aquaculture and Fisheries, and 5 for Environment) and 12 courses for Academic

Total days: a total of 463 days for MJR and 223 days for Academic Administration
and Management

Overseas Activities * Overseas activities costs are the budget which are managed by the Project
Costs* office at CTU. The costs for the long and short-term experts, short-training in
Japan, provision of equipment and JSUC, etc. are managed by JICA Headquarters
in Tokyo and JICA Viet Nam Office. Total budget of the Project including above
overseas activities costs is about 400 million Japanese Yen ( ≒ 74.44 billion
VND) as stated in Chapter 1.9.
