The Project Management Unit (PMU) organized the meetings of 14 Technical Committees on September 13th and 14th, 2017 to evaluate 14 first batch research proposals under the CTU Improvement Project. These proposals have been called and processed since May 4th, 2017. Organization of these Technical Committees’ meetings follows the selection process in the Guidelines for Research Management of the CTU Improvement Project established based on the official Project documents, i.e., the Feasibility Study document and the Minutes of Discussion of different meetings among JICA, delegations of Japanese Professors, Project consultants and CTU, as well as the Guidelines for Management of Research Projects in the Circular 11/2016/TT-BGDĐT dated 11 April 2016 of the Ministry of Education and Training.

The 14 proposals have been thoroughly reviewed by the Japanese Technical Committees from 9 Japanese Universities then revised accordingly by the research teams; therefore, they were qualified and selected by the Committees here to be granted by the Project in 2018. Each research team presented its proposal and responded to every comment of the Committee members which helped make the proposal even better. All 14 proposals would be revised according to the Committee’s conclusions then sent again to the Japanese Technical Committees for the second review. Those proposals are:

  4. Molecular studies for detection and identification of animal diseases in MDR - Leader: Assoc. Prof. Nguyễn Trọng Ngữ
  5. Studies and development of post-harvest technologies for rice, plant and crop based-food products in MDR - Leader: Assoc. Prof. Lý Nguyễn Bình
  6. Development of value added food products from agricultural products and by-products in MDR - Leader: Assoc. Prof. Nguyễn Công Hà
  7. Studies on food pathogens and antibiotics resistant bacteria - Leader: Dr. Tống Thị Ánh Ngọc
  8. Green technology innovation for aquaculture - Leader: Assoc. Prof. Trần Ngọc Hải
  9. Quality improvement of fisheries/aquaculture products - Leader: Dr. Lê Thị Minh Thủy
